about us

Nestled in the rolling hills of South Otago, New Zealand; Coal Gully Alpacas was established in 2002 by Veterinarian Barbara Christensen and her husband Rolf. Leopard Appaloosa "Eringa Park Chameleon' was the foundation sire for the current herd which now includes several of Chameleon's progeny. Unrelated lines of appaloosa alpacas have also been added to the herd and progeny is expected this season. As well as appaloosa, the breeding programme also focuses on coloured alpaca including greys and gorgeous multi-colours. A carefully selected number of alpacas including appaloosa will be available for sale this season. Check out our "Alpacas for Sale" page for details.
